The overall objective of the GDCE-CI project is to develop and innovate open and interoperable cloud, edge and interconnect technologies that will enable the construction of highly reliable, low latency and secure geographically distributed infrastructure for critical services.
The goal is to develop geographically distributed cloud and edge infrastructures that support the coexistence of virtualizations with or without containers, (meta)orchestration in multiple clouds, automation of life cycle management by ensuring quality of service and cyber security. In addition, the project includes the development of virtualized, mobile and/or wired network services to connect local or remote cloud and edge nodes and IoT devices.
End users will benefit from cost and performance-effective provisioning of mission-critical applications on private, hybrid or public cloud and edge infrastructures in either IaaS, PaaS or SaaS mode, depending on whether part of the federated multi-cloud and highly interoperable interconnecting infrastructure already exists or shall be additionally deployed for tailored mission-critical application’s needs.
Designing, developing and implementing Software Defined Network Controller
Designing, developing and implementing Software Defined Access (SDA) Controller, adapted for centralized and decentralized Cloud-Edge architectures that will interconnect central cloud, light weight on premise and far edge nodes.
Architecture, development and implementation of Networking Services for edges
Architecture definition, development, and implementation of Networking Services for on premise edges and far/near edges for confidential, dependable and/or mission-critical (ultra-reliable, low-latency) applications (4G/5G/Wi-Fi).
Lifecyle secure design, security architecture, measures and check-ups
Lifecyle secure design, security architecture, security measures and security check-ups for distributed multi-provider Datacentre-Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum.
Integrated Edge-Cloud continuum Life Cycle Management, Orchestration and Automation
Integrated Multi-Provider and Edge-Cloud continuum Life Cycle Management, Orchestration and Automation for non-containerized and containerized virtual Cloud and Edge environments
Distributed tools/solutions for automated proactive testing, monitoring and reporting
Tools for automated proactive testing, monitoring and reporting of network, services and applications performance and cloud/edge related metrics, allowing end-to-end monitoring, to support QoS-aware SDN implementation guaranteeing QoE/QoS performance.
Distributed Security Operations Centres
Develop and integrate real-time attack detection, reaction and recovery, develop threat intelligence and integrate threat detection for cloud-edge continuum and infrastructure for Distributed Security Operations Centres.
Integrate threat intelligence, identify security requirements and implement use cases
Integrate threat intelligence, identify security requirements and implement use cases with high security requirements for specific needs e.g. E-Government, Industry or Enterprise software.
First Industrial Deployment roll-out, Proof of Concept and interop testing.
First Industrial Deployment (FID) roll-out, Proof of Concept (PoC) and interoperability testing for flexible and highly programmable infrastructure for integration and interconnection with CoSEC and OSMOP.EU macro projects.
